I love the juxtaposition of old shots with new from the same perspective.
The one called 'Out of Action' is the scene of a tank fight between a Panther and Pershing. There are some amazing bits of real video and many photos about the incident. It happened in front of the the great cathedral in Cologne. I've posted this before but it's worth mentioning again.
Here's a web page devoted to the event:

And here is actual video with commentary of the duel:
Good stuff, Stagger. Thanks!
can you imagine what that duel would sound like over a team speak channel. ::)

Probably lots of references to the other team's mothers and the occasional quip about bags of tea.
'Bags of Tea' and 'Teabagging' are not the same thing. :D

Tell that to the Brits in Boston harbor, old chap!
The Ghosts of War photos -- the WWII photos are juxtaposed on the actual current day locations? The "Taking a Break" photo, for example -- that's not a WWII photo of soldiers taking a break somewhere else. That's a photo of soldiers taking a break at the exact location of the current photo?
Regardless, very cool.

That's the way I'm seeing it, yep.
Very cool, very evocative. The Cat got it right -- Wow.
If they had one like the bombed Stalingrad bombed buildings juxtaposed over a graffiti'd Faulkner's "The past is not dead,". . . well, that'd be pretty meta.
