I wish they'd just do an updated X-Wing/Tie Fighter, but this looks like it has potential.
The ship textures in those screenshots look plain bad.

Seriously...other than the fact that it is Star Wars, what exactly is there to be excited about? That trailer is frighteningly bad.
Yeah...that looks like utter crap. Maybe 10 years ago that would have been great graphics...
Also, am I the only nerd here wondering how a TIE fighter destroyed an X-Wing with just a couple of blasts? What self-respecting X-Wing pilot doesn't have shields up? For the love of Kessel...
This does not bode well for Lucas Arts under the stewardship of Disney.

Just think what they could do with modern technology - make the entire Death Star surface a playable map?
Let's not forget that the Star Wars license under George Lucas made plenty of bad games. Even the ones that were not bad rarely rose above the rank of average. I am willing to still harbor hope that more than a few Knights of the Old Republics are waiting to be made. Certainly from the looks of this game, things can only go up.

I'm actually looking forward to seeing how this game plays. I love Star Wars and am a complete sucker for Star Wars games. In fact, the only thing I'm looking forward to during the Steam sale this year is a sale on the complete Star Wars package to replace all of the discs I have sitting in a box down in the basement.

i would like to see a Star Wars mod (or full conversion) of X-Rebirh ...but i think that will not be possible (also technical, is it moddable?) cause of copyright legal issues even if some genius in the community would try to start that

I figured it was crap after hearing about it being a browser-based game.
Although that doesn't necessarily mean that it's terrible, it just didn't give me high hopes. There are a few browser games that are enjoyable such as Card Hunter, the Mechwarrior Tactics and Silent Hunter Online betas.
