All those who acquired Fallout, Fallout 2, or Fallout Tactics on GOG.com prior to the date of removal (that is before Tuesday, December 31st 2013, at 3:59PM GMT), will still be able to download the games' install files (as well as the bonus content) via the "My Games" section of their user accounts. Gift-codes for these three games acquired in our recent giveaway are no longer valid. However, if you own a gift-code for any or all of them that was purchased outside of the said giveaway, you'll still be able to redeem it in the foreseeable future.

I grabbed Fallout 2 and Fallout Tactics in the recent giveaway and both still show up in my catalog, so I'm not sure I totally get the info in the last paragraph. Maybe the gift codes are something else??
If you had them in your catalog then you'll keep them.
What they mean by gift codes is that if you got a code to redeem that will give you them, then it won't anymore.
They will probably have to let you redeem the gift codes for something else, of equal value.
Dollars to donuts, the IP holders are planning to release either a remake, reboot, enhanced edition, or just saw how well the titles did on GOG and want the entire sales revenue for themselves (with added DRM at no extra charge).

Just out of curiosity, did GOG.com give any advanced notice that this was coming?
I hadn't heard anything about this until now.
I downloaded Fallout 1 but not any of the others, although they're in my catalogue after that free sale they offered a short time ago.

Yes. I believe it was mentioned as part of the reason for the giveaway at the start of their Christmas sale.
Will they be back? Possibly. They don't currently have a distribution agreement with Zenimax, and that's why they had to pull them.
Glad i already have Fallout 1 & 2...
