The US has been widely criticised for the reported treatment of prisoners at the military detention centre on Cuba, including the waterboarding of detainees in what has become known as "enhanced interrogation" practices.
It has been reported that the US military there and at other detention facilities in Iraq and Afghanistan blasted loud music into detainees' cells, ranging from Metallica and Nine Inch Nails to Queen and Sesame Street.
'Taken aback'
A US Army general who authorised the practice said it would "create fear, disorient... and prolong capture shock", according to the Associated Press.
The BBC has not independently confirmed Skinny Puppy's songs were used at Guantanamo.
In the interview with CTV, Cevin Key said the former guard had written a book about his time in Guantanamo and had reached out to the band.
"I think he was quite taken aback our music was being used in such a manner," Key said.
The Vancouver-based band, which has been active for about 30 years and was one of the originators of the dark rock subgenre known as industrial, said it would consider suing the military for using its music without permission if it received no response to the invoice.
Some people will try anything to either grind a political axe, or to buy groceries.

My question is: Did the military legitimately buy the music in the first place? If so, the band really has no leg to stand on. If you want to have a party for your "friends" and blast loud music there is really not much they can say.

I wish, but not in my case. In general, my family -- on both sides -- are an indication of just how much of a crapshoot male hair is.
On my mom's side of the family, my grandfather had a pretty full head of hair up until his death at 89, as do 2 of my 3 uncles. On the other hand, 2 of his 3 brothers (my great-uncles) began balding in their 30's, as did my other uncle. My grandmother's brothers all began balding sooner or later, but most of *their* sons (my mom's cousins) still have a decent amount of hair.
In contrast, my paternal grandfather was balding at least in his 40's (if not sooner), while my father (who's 65) continues to have hair whose thickness & body -- despite being mostly white now -- far exceeds my own these days. :-[ Go figure.
My grandfather started losing his hair early, but he was military all his life and pretty much didn't care, so he kept it buzz-cut short all his life, even up to his death in 1992.
I, on the other hand, continue to sprout hair from my head like a hippy - it grows like mad and I have to get a haircut about once every five weeks, otherwise it becomes a thick mess. I tried to grow it out to see how long I could get it before it annoyed me, and it ended up annoying my wife more first, so guess who won that little sideshow? ::)
My hair also started going gray when I was 20. I colored it off and on but after countless arguments from my wife, she finally convinced me to stop doing that because apparently gray hais is "distinguished" on men.
I say screw that, because I may be 44 but I still act and feel like a 20-year-old sometimes. But again, guess who won...

That sounds familiar. My mother is 5'4", my father 5'6", my grandparents both not taller than 5'7", and me, I'm 6'4". My grandfather on my dad's side was apparently a giant of a man, almost seven feet tall, so that's probably where it comes from. That or a mutant dwarf bite at some point in my childhood.

LOL...memories of my childhood are sketchy. It was Northern Virginia until 5th grade...you never know.
I know exactly who did this...my maternal great grandfather. He was about 5 feet tall...shorter than his wife, who he is posing in a picture with, sitting down. The majority of my male relatives were over 6 feet. That one tiny bastard ruined everything.
I can't belittle you for having a little person in the woodpile. Shortly, someone will come along and offer a hug, which is no small thing. Just don't get short with them over it. Just remember to ignore the yellow brick road or chocolate river if one happens to cross your path.
