A new victory for Panzer Corps
The classic series arrives on Steam!

Thanks to the fans that supported the game with thousands of votes, Panzer Corps was Greenlit on Steam last December. After two months of optimizing and adapting the game to this platform, and implementing 84 unique achievements, Panzer Corps and all of its expansions are finally out! This means the players have access not only to the base game but also to the 10 Grand Campaigns, Afrika Korps and Allied Corps expansions.
This project would not have been possible without the full support of our fan base. In order to thank the Panzer Corps community, we are pleased to announce that we are giving a free Steam key to anyone who has a copy of the game, wherever they bought it from. All they need to do is register their serial number here (http://www.slitherine.com/my_page/steam_serials) and they will be able to redeem their code !

I've never played a Panzer General or Corps title before, but that's going to change shortly, after about 1.2 gigs download. I'm looking forward to it!

I for one welcome our new Panzer Overlords to Steam. ;D
I already own most of the series, but still... I hope this bodes well for the release of more Matrix games to retail download distribution (Steam, Gamersgate, maybe GoG since some of their games would definitely count in that category. ;) )

There are a few others that would make a lot of sense on Steam. Battle Academy could likely do well, and Pandora and Distant Worlds would also have a real chance at being successful on the platform.
I would guess that they do have plans to launch more titles on steam. Owners of pre-steam versions can register their game with Slitherine and receive a steam key. There is actually a "My Steam Keys" page in each user's account profile.
Is that true if you bought it from Matrix (don't think I've ever bought anything from Slitherine)?

If Dom 4 and Paradox titles do well on Steam and GG, I should think any Slitheratrix title would stand a chance of doing well. 99% of their titles are better quality than most of the smaller name strategy titles on GG.

The good: It is, as I had hoped, almost exactly what I was looking for. A relaxing wargame. Not too complex, but with enough variables to still make decisions have consequences. Really very satisfying.
The bad: Nazis. Some sense of homogeneity among infantry and armor, but I'm also still very early in the game.
The Ugly: It's not high fidelity. My solution to the norwegian issue was to essentially buy another division. Graphically, this is no candy crush.
The Splaty: Probably just me, but really don't know what to do with the naval model.
The Grab: Oodles of DLC, including an allied campaign.

Thanks Skeptical. That's a whole review in a few lines. I know if I don't make myself stay away from this one I'll be hooked for sure. I was a Panzer General-holic for a few years in the 90's until I went into rehab.

Naval model. Hm. Well, yeah. They're fast-moving land units which can't move on land, most of which can attack at a distance like artillery. Super-long-range arty in some cases. Some of the units can hide in terrain. They need to be resupplied occasionally like land units, but not quite as often.
Really glad Slitherine is giving Steam keys to owners.
How does that Steam key thing work, btw? Because I have the box of PC and several of its campaign packs.
If you go on Slitherine.. you just register your game, using your key and it returns you with a Steam key.. Not sure if you can also register DLC's or not..

Ha, figures. It doesn't even recognize my serial number.
Make sure your serial is registered at Slitherine, even if you already registered them at Matrix, both systems cannot communicate with each other, so follow the above instructions at Slitherine.
