Title: SPI invents YouTube!
Post by: MetalDog on March 15, 2014, 08:12:23 AM
Ok.  So they didn't invent YouTube, but, you can find this 'infomercial' on there.  Thought some of you chitkickers would enjoy this :)

Wow! Looks like there were a lot more women wargamers in the 70's. I loved the stop motion depiction of the changing battle of Wagram. It was like a hand operated Vassal logfile playback.

I used to own so many SPI games, including many of the 'monsters'.

In those days, it would seem, smoking was obligatory.

Actually, there were just a lot fewer barbers in the 70s. It was a confusing time.

I have fond memories of driving from Newcastle to Birmingham, and making a longish detour in order to 'nip in' to SPI UK in Altrincham, near Manchester, so that I could buy a copy of 'War in the East'. That was round about 1976-77.
