MoW: Assault Squad 2 was available for pre-order for a couple of months. If you pre-ordered you got instant access to the closed beta. Release was scheduled for tomorrow, 3/20/14.
Today on steam, a day before release, it was announced by the developers that the game is not being released until Q2 2014, and that it's status is being switched from pre-order to "Early Access." This designation apparently terminates a customer's ability to obtain a refund due to the incomplete nature of the game, bugs, glitches, lack of content, etc.
Although this developer has a pretty good track record, the decision to make this change with ONE (1) day notice before release is, shall we say, questionable.
People are going to hate.
Sounds like someone needs money to finish the game. Run away!!!!
It's pretty much the standard these days to announce any sort of radical release changes at the very last moment, sometimes even only after. :(
Well that is a weird and fishy move. I was tempted by this one but now I am glad I held off.
In my opinion,
This game is nothing more than a way for them to make money for Call to Arms.... Which I doubt will ever see the light of day.
Content wise, this shouldn't even be called a sequel.
1C is a Russian company. Jarhead is important enough to be on their counter embargo/sanctions list already! ;D ;)
Last I heard they were working on a Modern version of series but, your right it sounds like a money grab!
Maybe they should start looking for partnerships, Matrix/Slitherine for CC 3D - (Men of War Graphics with Close Combat game play)!!! :)

It's still going to retain the same overhead look. They are replacing the 2d vehicle sprites with 3d vehicles.
I dream of a game that has the realism of Combat Mission with the looks of Company of Heroes or MoW.

There is also another CC game slated for this year based on Panzer's in the Fog game. I doubt we'll see 2 CC games in the same year, makes me wonder is CC 3D really a new game with a new game engine or just a re-write of the existing game code with improvements? Calling a game with a top down isometric view 3D is a bit of a misnomer.

its out, well, was on the 15th - anyone feeling the love?
It's really more of the same, which to me, is a good thing.
I enjoyed the Men of War, Faces of War games, I wish they would move beyond the model of endless re-spawns in the single player campaigns and have a real AI with a fixed number of forces. I would really like to see a game with Close Combat style gameplay with MOW graphics!
