the graphics on some of the counters aren't great, but there's a LOT here with the updates to the game

Have you looked at the files at the Assault yahoo group?  One of the guys has made some lovely counters for the 1988 version.
Gen. Montgomery: "Your men don't salute much."

Me too. Loved the game back in the day. Did a lot of home brew mods for it too. Good Times.  O0
