Loved watching her and the Duke together.  Much sadness today.   :'(

With her Irish spunk, she could stand up to the rugged Duke, both on and off screen. She was proud when he remarked in an interview that he preferred to work with men — "except for Maureen O'Hara; she's a great guy."

When mentally designing the costume (and some of the behavior) for Portunista Athalia, the main protagonist of my fantasy series, I had some of Maureen O'Hara's rogue / pirate costumes in mind. (Not the hair, but 'ista gets long red hair later.)

Art instructions to any future artists stand: dress her like Action!Maureen O'Hara.
