Hey Grogs,

What Ifs and alternate histories have always piqued my interest in wargaming.
I have a few in mind I'd like to embellish with OST, but what are some ideas that interest you guys?

Any scale, any battle and any eras, any thoughts?

I've always been interested in some of the "what-ifs" regarding the potential for conflict between the Western Allies and the Soviets in Central and Eastern Europe in the immediate post-war years. I think Panzer Grenadier has a few modules covering this, but it seems like a scenario in which you might find some fascinating combinations of national forces on the battlefield.

So that D'Erlon and Reille fought Blucher at Ligny, and Vandamme and Gerard fought Wellington at Quatre Bras and Waterloo.

During filming of Airplane, Leslie Nielsen used a whoopee cushion to keep the cast off-balance. Hays said that Nielsen "played that thing like a maestro"

Tallulah Bankhead: "I'll come and make love to you at five o'clock. If I'm late, start without me."

There was a scenario for Lock 'n Load: Band of Heroes called "Ein Freund in Not" that had US & Germans fighting the Russians post-WWII, but it was just a single scenario

Yeah, Panzer Grenadier seems to be the best bet for that kind of thing... but I'm not certain I want to go down that rabbit hole of expensive, OOP module dependencies, etc.

In fact, I'm certain that I don't want to do that. Though I'm leaning more and more towards picking up one of the new 4th edition boxes. Broken Axis looks intriguing.

Trotsky wins the power struggle with Stalin and becomes leader of the Soviet Union.  No officer purges in the 30's with Barbarossa occurring as normal.

ooooh, that's good

  The Taiping Rebellion succeeded and:
a) Chinese Gordon died in China (sparing the Muahdi some hearbreak)
b) A progressive, democratic, Guadongish China emerged and Crushed Japan in 1898 -- Remember the TiChiang!  and to Hell with Japan!
c) Tsarist Russia is spared defeat by Japan and becomes a vast, Liberal Empire
d) as do the Rump of China, the Mess of Japan and the Cosmic Greatness of India (with Pakistan still attached!)
e) Roosevelt doesn't get Polio because he is visiting Shanghai and Bankok in the late 1920s
