Stay away from Histwar. Gone in the wind

I know, that's why I only mentioned the first version of the game.  It received its final patch in may 2015.

The new versions probably will never be completely finished in our lifetimes.  However I consider the first game to be an excellent simulation of napoleontic battles, once you get used to the UI.


Now between TW and SOW I would go with SOW.

Yeah...shame too because i bought Histwar: Napoleon when it first came out and was really excited to see what it would Become

^ I whiffed on Histwar, I did spend some time playing it though, I feel like I spent more time looking at all the cool detailed uniforms like I was in a Napoleonic 3d museum.  The game plays horrible...too bad.

SOW Waterloo is the more groggy game, but it needs a lot of work too, especially on the sandbox  campaign.  It seems the game plays best a Corps level, so simming the battle of waterloo with a dozen guys all handling a corps has got to be a great experience...something I should get around to doing.

You could get Total War Napoleon in the steam sale if you don't have it already and give it a go with the darth mod...nothing to loose but time investment.  Not the most groggy of games, but always very entertaining.
