Brant: You do the same thing on death threats, etc.... from any other source (verbal, letters, phone, email) - you report it to the police and hopefully they nail the individual.  That also has a check against people making stuff up to gain political sympathy for their point of view.  Filing a false police report can get you into serious trouble.

Plus, nobody is arguing that Twitter not ban people from making threats of violence.  What people are upset about is a leftist, SJW throttling of political speech they don't care for.

The concerns you raise about this are irrelevant.  There are checks and balances with filing police reports.  Banning violent threats is not controversial.

But I never use twitter, read twitter and could care less about it.

The problem is that filing a police report is almost useless. It is extremely difficult for police to track the perpetrators down and they aholes doing it know that.

Amen.

Actually, I have one twitter feed I follow, and Life would go on without it if I dropped it.

In other news, helping users to increase the safety of Twitter, users can now report if someone disagrees with their opinion.

Hopefully they'll expand this in the near future to also include "this is my side," and "my feelings are hurt."

QuoteTwitter's form to report abusive or harassing behavior includes an option to report comments that are "offensive, disrespectful or in disagreement with my opinion."

The form is part of Twitter's new initiative to increase "safety" on the site.

Again... a disturbing trend.

And openly appointing politically motivated SJW types to their new Thought Police Council is a terrible move.  Between this and their infamous shadow banning tendencies, they deserve whatever exodus results.

Quote...at the same time that its massively popular hashtags #WhichHillary & #WhichHillaryCensored were suddenly absent from many users' trending lists.

The aforementioned Shadowbanning it's become infamous for.

Who could have  possibly seen this coming....oh wait, everyone.
