If you haven't tried Frozen Synapse, you really should. It's a blast.

It's a great little game. Used to come with buy-one-get-one-free so you could give it to a friend and multiplay.
All that is gold does not glitter,

I never tried this game out.  I know I am shallow but it never grabbed me from the visual appeal.

Heh, the visual style is one of the things that first attracted me to the game.  Frozen Synapse is really, really good.  The single player mode alone offers countless hours of fun thanks to a surprisingly good campaign and the random mission generator, but multiplayer is just brilliant.
