And for the photo?  All they need is a bugger.

Thanks for the link.  There are some good topics there.

Do you know if they found the engine nose cowl ?  I have not had a
chance to check the news.

Thanks! This group might be useful for me in terms of asking for advice.

I earned my PPL shortly before 9-11 but haven't flown in about 14 years. Before I started training, my best friend Tom who was also my instructor, before he got his CFI, took me up for 2 stunning night flights over center city Philadelphia (not to mention a flight up the Hudson river, level with the tops of the WTC and circles around the statue of liberty). I want to experience the Philly night flight at least once more in my life.

I have it in mind to take my wife for a night flight over the city as a Christmas present this winter solstice. The shortest day of the year will be ideal as we can take off about dusk, make a quick detour to fly over our house, and then head to Philly (about a 35 minute trip by air IIRC), do a couple of circles around downtown, and then head home. Doing it on or around the solstice means that we don't have to be out super late, and winter weather means that air pressure should be high for optimal flying conditions.

I can't be the pilot in command (PiC) as I'm no where near legal flying status so we'll need to go up with someone who's "current", probably an instructor. I'd also like to do the take off and landing, though, so the PiC will have to approve that. Shouldn't be a problem as I was taking off every flight starting with my second lesson. It's almost as easy as riding a bike and landing is almost as easy as taking off!

Ubercat  I think that's a great plan.  A night flight over a big city is fantastic.  I have had the chance to do it a few times during my time in the Air Force it was great.  I do hope you can make it happen.
