Just came across this one.  Not sure it'd be my cup-o-tea, but some here may like it. Looks (to me) similar to Starfield.  Demo available on Feb 23.

Empyrion scratches a lot of the same itch already, and has come a lonnnnnng way since my "7 Days to Fly" AAR, but always nice to have competition!

Having said that, Empy is also still rather janky from what I've heard and seen -- haven't played it in a long time. Small dev team of course, but still it's been... more than five years? Ten? They release regular patches, which is good, but they also tend toward feature creep rather than nailing down the engine at last.

So Star^H^H^H^HSpaceCraft  could have plenty of room to maneuver, so to speak, as a position in the market. That will largely depend on releasing a stable game and keeping it stable.
