All I have to do is put myself into the shoes of the other guy. It's called empathy. Not putting any money into Norb's pocket is a microscopic bit of justice. You do what you can.

Only took 13 posts to get there.

Lots of people seem to love the game and don't mention the past, others refuse to get it because of it.

And please, please, let it end here.  It is an outstanding game.

Slitherine will likely publish this. IIRC Norb and JD have worked together before.

It would be great if Matrix-Slitherine started publishing them.  Then perhaps we could get rid of the online activation DRM?

I hope JD doesn't end up getting sick. He'll get out of the hospital and find that Norb stole his company!

You have to get over it. In today's world people with shady ethics/morals or a lack of ethics/morals often get ahead. Look at Facebook.

I would have bought it already if that was the case. I just refuse to support his kind of drm, no matter how much he is on the ball and take care of issues right away. Just having to consider making that e-mail or forum post to be allowed to play my game is a deal breaker. Incidentally i would have had to contact his twice last year... Yeah, no deal and piss off and die you rotten drm hugger. (not you Nef. :P)

I wonder how people would feel about the situation if he owned a non game related company and no one here or on the Wargamer needed/desired his services? Would people line up to defend some Joe with a landscaping business that did what he did?

Personally (and I'm planning on making this my last post on the subject in this thread) I would have chalked it up to none of my business. I wasn't there and don't know the whole story. I may have even ended up giving him my business after the smoke cleared.

But then he had to start deleting any related threads on his forum and trying to act like nothing happened. Next he went on Wargamer under a sockpuppet account to talk about how great a guy that Norb is. Finally, all the references to the "team" at Norbsoft he threw around liberally in his press releases were just frosting on a pathetic cake. At that point the team was gone! He couldn't have put my back up any worse than that if he'd been trying to.

I'm out. back to your regularly scheduled heaping of praise.

LOL!

I completely understand.  I admire you for sticking to it, as I eventually gave in to some of them.  That crap is still a consideration in my purchases, but I've compromised my principles to get my fix a few times now, and I'll probably be stuck with some useless activation codes sometime in the future with nothing to show for it.   :-[

I just verified Scourge is not anymore in sold on Gamersgate, so I assume the partner isn't Paradox

My gut tells me it's Slitherine.

What a brilliant start for whoever the new partner is. "Hey, let's reduce the number of places where the products are available."

Probably the game never sold sufficiently on Gamersgate, so they leaved to expire the contract. Anyway the map pack were never sold on gamersgate.
