War of the Roses 20% Pre-Order Discount

An email just sailed into my inbox from Gamers Gate offering War of the Roses for 20% off, plus some goodies:

I don't see a discount code so I don't know if this has a unique code embedded in the link of if it's a general offer for pre-orders.

Part of the hazard of criticizing a game before it's released is that it is, by definition, still in development. That's the reason you won't see us criticize a preview copy of a game: it's just not finished and it *will* change.

Also, games do grow on you.

Anyway, glad to hear it's good. We could use more of this kind of fun :)

Still on the fence about this.  I think I am going to have to wait until the game is released to make up my mind.

Well, I agreed to the NDA and I think you guys would want/appreciate me sticking to that.  Having said that, what I think I can say is that the developers have been receptive to the most glaring community complaints and I like the direction they are going.  I see so much unused potential, but it is possible that with a $20 entry price point they may be looking to exploit some DLC options.  I mean, I really don't know.

I find myself continuing to keep clicking "play" though, and that's always a good sign.  The comparisons between WotR and M&B are obvious from the trailer and videos out there.  Like M&B multiplayer, Red Orchestra, and games of that nature, this game really appeals to me on the quick match before dinner level.  It's not Skyrim or CK2 where it takes you 10 minutes just to calibrate your mind to where you left off.

They still have some time and I'm hopeful they take some more beta suggestions into account.  But they have definitely been moving in a positive direction from when I started playing and now.  We're not there yet, but I like what I'm seeing.
