WEGO vs IGOUGO

I'd not heard of the title, Ara: History Untold, before, but I did find this article to give one developers on view on the complexities of designing a WEGO title.

It's obvious that many of us enjoy WEGO games when we can find them, but it had never occurred to me the complexity of sequencing different mechanics AND keeping the interaction between sides feeling simpatico.  Some of you who follow the industry more closely may have much more informed opinions on this topic, but I thought I'd share, as you don't find many articles that talk about game design.
