So, Greenland. I suppose  the PM of Denmark would have liked this topic to melt away under the summer heat wave, too.

WSJ timed their article for today with the NATO summit in Ankara, I suppose. An interesting read nevertheless, I had not really paid attention to the 51st state topic, but it seems it shares many similarities to case Greenland.

This, in particular, caught my attention, as similarly back in February, six European nations decided the concern was grave enough to send a trip-wire force to the island:

Mark Carney swept to power on a backlash to President Trump's talk of making Canada the 51st state, which many Americans took for mere shtick. But for the new prime minister, reading intelligence reports detailing the gravity of the crisis, it was a breaking point.

President Stubb of Finland was asked about his view on how this NATO summit will play out a couple of days ago. He commented that he expects some harsh rhetoric but that no one should be overly concerned about that. He seemed to have his finger on the pulse, and I am not packing my rucksack quite yet, but why not saving these articles here. Not happy about all that tit-for-that rhetoric on social media though. That only plays for our adversaries.

I wouldn't worry about Greenland, no one in America would let trump start a war with Denmark over Greenland.  When Rubio takes over in 2028, things will go back to normal with NATO and our allies in the world.  That's if Trumps bungling of the Iran war doesn't kill Rubio or Vance's chances.  Trumps 4 years may make Desantis look even better 2028, and well democrats think communism is the way so that'll go nowhere in 2028 nor will Gavin Newsome, cause I live in his state now and his leadership is dogshit, no way that will go primetime at the federal level, guy wouldn't even win reelection in his own state right now.
