Make sure you go through the equally annoying hoops of updating the game to the latest version.  The last 'official' release I played had some bugs until I updated to the latest developer's beta.

It can be a pain in the rear, but once you finger it out, it's a pretty damn cool mix of wargame and sim.

I think the Graviteam section of SimHQ has the most info, and there are now even some walkthroughs & such along with update links.
