I will try it out soon. Looking to play Pacific War and Carrier Strike.

Why would you need dosbox for tiller games?

Staggerwing

To play them on Android phones and tablets of course!

Listen I cannot even pretend to read every link around this joint.  I'd have to quit my day job to do that. :P

Ha! I'm beginning to think that for some folks it is their day job to do just that...

If anyone is able to get this to work on Kindle Fire, please let me know.

Amazon conveniently locked out Google Play apps on their devices.  And then they don't carry all the apps that Google has. It's like Apple executives are running the Kindle show, there.   ::)

You can still d/l and use aDOSbox manually, but it doesn't have all the features of "Turbo" (which is based on aDOSbox IIRC).  There's supposedly some way to dirty hack some Google Play stuff into a Kindle Fire but I don't want to attempt it myself.

I've been wanting to at least load M&M4-5 World Of Xeen into aDOSbox on my Fire, since it can be played with only mouse control (practically a requirement with aDOSbox reportedly) but haven't been in a hurry to fookitup just yet.  Been planning on buying a netbook or something for just such uses, and instead use the Kindle for reading, vids, and an odd android game.

Can a DOS emulator run an x86 program?  How about a DOS emulator ported to the Android platform?

I've heard that some DOS emulators can supposedly run some Win95 apps but I've never tried (and haven't heard much in the results department either).

If anyone manages to manually load up aDOSbox onto a Kindle Fire, and get some games working, let me know.

This woman has a blog showing some of the emulators she's ran on her Fire:

And specifically the aDOSbox post:

QuoteEDIT: Yep, Windows 3.1 works surprisingly pretty well. A little too fast even.

Looking at the HPS website.. Windows is a 'requirement' for the HPS games... I wonder.. would the Matrix John Tiller games run in Dos or do they require Windows as well.. I don't want to purchase this app, if only Doom works.. lol.. just not interested in Doom!

Search for DosBox Turbo Win 95 or Win 98 and you will find results.
They have image files of the OS but I don't think that's legal.
