FarAway Sooner

This is the prequel to Eador: Master of the Broken Worlds (due out sometime in Q1-2013).  It's a thoroughly developed game (released in 2010), but has only recently been translated from Russian into English.

It's an amazing game--deep and groggy, very deliberately paced, with nice atmosphere and open-ended TBS play.  So long as you don't expect vivid particle effects for the multimedia blood splashes with every blow that lands, it's one of the best titles I've run across in a long time.

Think Dominions meets Heroes of Might & Magic.  It's been devouring my every spare minute for a month now.

There's another thread on the game here that's a few pages down, but I recently ran across a review of the game on Tacticular Cancer (I know, I hate the name too) and thought I'd share it here, as this is an amazing gem.  I'd heartily recommend that somebody here run a review on the game, or at least contact the folks at Snowbird to see if they can get you a preview copy of the new game.

Anyways, enough rambling from me, here's the link:  http://www.tacticularcancer.com/content.php?id=3904

Regardless of how good a PC game may be it will always have its detractors and no matter how bad a PC game may be it will always have its fans.

I really like Endor: Genesis.  It a nice relaxing slog.
