Ok, so I bought OPDR back in 2009 for the Xbox360. Really enjoyed the game and I've always thought it was the closest thing to an ARMA type game on the console. About a year later I happened to be in the PC section of Best Buy and saw a lone PC Boxed version of the game sitting on the shelf. I bought it for the marked down price of $12.

One of the things I've always enjoyed about OFDR are the Fireteam skirmish missions, the only problem is there were never enough of them. About a month later I was checking out OFDR on the Steam Forums and found a link for a modder whose sole focus is this game.

His site is called "Saintaxe & ROR and its' the most professional modding site I've ever seen. Full descriptions of every mission he's created including maps, photos and text for each one. Currently, he's up to 151 SP missions. All of the missions are varied and include search and destroy, defend positions, vehicle based, etc. I'm finding them very entertaining and more than challenging in some cases. I also think OFDR looks much better on the PC than it did on the console.

To make things even better he's got a nifty little downloader app that you DL and run and it installs all of the missions in one fell swoop. It takes you all of 10 minutes to complete the process.

If you already have the PC version of the game you're all set, if not Steam sells it for $14.99. OFDR had some bonus fireteam missions but you need codes to unlock them. I remember posting them for Jarhead on the other forum. If you buy the game, just let me know and I'll post the codes here.

Anyway, here is the link for the Saintaxe & Ror mod site:

Sounds interesting.  How does it compare to ARMa2? I have it for PS3 but never played it a lot.

Nope. Bohemia and Codemasters parted ways. Bohemia's ARMA is derived from the original Operation Flashpoint.  Codemasrers kept the rights to the Operation Flashpoint name and used a different engine for the sequels.

Sweet, this is one of the games I picked up on Steam for like $3 on sale!   ;D

Co-op missions are supposed to be lots of fun in OFDR. Anyone interested?

I would have to install and setup, but I would be interested.  I got this during the summer sale for $5 but have never played it.....

Shelldrake,

Thanks for the link to OPDR on MODDB. I haven't checked that site for a long time.  I also saw another mod on there for Brothers in Arms: Road to Hill 30 that looks interesting. I've got a copy of BIA Hell's Highway for XBOX360 and PC. I also have BIA: Road to Hill 30 and BIA: Earned in Blood for PC. I find myself playing BIA: HH repeatedly. For some reason all of the BIA games sort of hit a sweet spot for me: more tactical, methodical and slower paced which is a nice alternative to games like COD.

I even liked OPFP Red River, (just odered a boxed copy for PC from Amazon for $6.55), even though the SP Campaign wasn't that great (although it did have its' moments), I repeatedly enjoy the Fireteam missions in the game, on the Xbox. The additional Fireteam Missions in the "Valley of Death" DLC were worth the extra cost as well.

I find myself playing OFDR more than ARMA2 lately, for me there is just something about the game as far as atmosphere and playability that really clicks.
Although I play on Normal difficulty I still get killed a lot, sorry to say!

Anyway, I'd be up for some OFDR coop too.

@ panzerseast and trek,
Outstanding. I am away for the weekend but will pm you next week with some possible times for OFDR co-op play.
