I had a question to ask about Football Manager - and it's one thing that stops me going back to it...a feeling of not making a difference

And here's why...

Some of my players are showing poor and very poor morale - so the logical thing is to go and see what the problem is and fix it - right? Except, looking at their profiles, they say they're happy at the club and have no concerns...nowhere do I see anyway of changing their morale

And there's my prob with the game - if I can't see an issue - I can't fix the issue - and therefore the game isn't giving me the info I need to maintain my team.

Any ideas? Maybe I'm missing something?

the litte clues that pop when the games loading etc say if youre having low morale, there are 2 ways of improving the situation - win more games (duh!) and offer a new contract

UCG - those are both things I DON'T need a tooltip for (thatnks for pointing them out - that was a dig at the game not you) - yeah - a better contract and winning games...brilliant. But why isn't the game telling me that's what's wrong with him.

If the game is telling me his morale is poor - and I go and look at his profile and it says He's happy he joined the club - then the game is not only misleading and confusing the issue - but wasting my time. And bearing in mind how much time wasting you can do in these games - every little save is worth it.

It should at least say he's happy he joined the club but his morale is low because a) he's not getting played often b) he's being subbed regularly/last game/whatever c)he think he's worth a little more.

I've just wasted money on one such player who's morale was Very Low - gave the best contract I could offer and hey presto - Still very low!

As it happened - everyone bar one players morale picked up with a league win.

And this is another thing - I'm only just into my season (one I started many, many moons ago) - perhaps that's why their morale is low - because they haven't played a game in 2 years? That makes as much sense as "Morale is low - they are happy to have joined the club"! :P

I seem to enjoy OOTP13 more than this - and I don't even get baseball!

in which case i dunno - i play FM2010 because i built a decent tactic that sweeps all before them and it doesnt work in 11,12,13 so i download a database update for 10 and go from there

as for morale, in which case im stuck - the only time i ever suffer from low morale is when the guys arent winning and im spanking them in the team talks, or indeed theyre doing really well but im not giving them enough love in the team talks

Just somewhat confusing.

All morale bar one player did pick up when we won - and I guess your head may be down - so maybe I should just be bothered about low morale if we're winning.

It just gets me when games seem to give you all the info - but it doesn't always mean anything.

Love the fact you're sticking with 2010 because you're good at it. Why change what aint broke, eh?  ;)

have taken harrogate from Blue Square north, to BS Premier, CC2 and now in CC1

CC1 is a massive change and im finding the squad struggling - ive played 4, won 3 and drawn 1 including a spanking of Leeds at elland Road, but we struggle much more than we did in the past

thatll be something to do with the £160 transfer budget i received, thats right, not 160,000 but 160.00!!!!!
