Well, the good news was I was able to pick this up for $9 in amazon sale, bad news is that the game must have the longest download/install time that I have ever seen:)

13-14 Hrs to download (my systems slow DSL speed--can't fully blame the game)
1 Hr to do the first install
30-40 minutes to download/install the mandatory patch (auto does it)
After I got through the first mandatory patch, it now redirects me to another page where I have to download 5 more similar separate patches before it will allow me to play the game..thinking 3-4 more hours yet:(

Why on heaven's earth did they just not create one all inclusive patch file versus six different?  Why wasn't my original install all patched up in the first place?  Crazy system.

This will go down as the game that took the longest for me to play from download to actually being able to start for the first time......I hope it ends up worth it!!!!

I can't answer your particular issue - but I can say "what a great game"!

If a game was ever allowed to be that much hassle to play, it's that game.

Greatness awaits.

I didn't notice it to be that long.  I am using the Steam version.

I am guessing that steam downloaded the latest code from the start, versus going through UBI it required all the patches to be applied manually.

Now I find out there is a seventh patch I need to install....yikes.....I might never get to play this game:(  Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day...

You still have to go through Ubi's UPlay stuff even with the Steam version.

On the plus side, once it's all set up, you get to play with the weapon customizer thingie and fly your drone of joy and headshots +2 around.

I didn't get the dlc. I'm pretty sure when I looked it was mp dlc (at least the one I saw) and I don't bother with dlc for games I don't play mp for (pretty much all games except BF3)

I don't know about the patches. I played the game through and don't recall any huge waits...but as it's on Steam it willhave been updated when I was busy with other games. Just another plus for Steam in my book.

Also I see the length was mentioned. It certainly wasn't Far Cry 3 length...but it was of a standard akin to most FPS games nowadays. But I did think what you did get to play was fantastic. A roller coaster of speed and sneak. Very visceral. I loved it.

I actually started playing the game AGAIN a week or so ago. Now anyone who knows me knows I rarely play a game through nevermind have another go!

That's right.  With Steam I can leave it to update itself while playing other games so it's barely noticeable.

This is what always grinds my gears.  When they don't keep it to 2 or less updates.. one big update and maybe a hotfix.. and it ends up being this kind of mess.   For the love of god, man!  Clean that shit up!

It occasionally happens with some Mods, too, and I don't usually bother with them if they don't keep things tidy.

Finally....all patched up and ready to go!!!!  I feel like Clark Griswold when he tried to get his Christmas lights working on his house in Christmas Vacation and he finally gets to enjoy them:)
