Still think for a company  their size would have been better to offer a sale that everyone could take advantage versus limited audience.  Sure they had 10% off but that is practically nothing based on the cost of their games.

Maybe offer a couple special prizes in a hunt but then still offer much larger discount for the others like their holiday sale.

I think it was actually a neat, creative sale idea. But I see two problems with it.

1. Limited uses for found Easter eggs means only early visitors get them. Maybe space them out over a few days the next time?

2. People couldn't even determine if the discounts had been used up until they reached checkout. That's fairly obnoxious.

The concept was sound, it just needed to be done a little better. No need to dump the whole idea, though.
Also very good points, AB.  (I didn't even realize the latter was happening until other folks mentioned it.)

I went in.. looked at Distant Worlds.. The Egg had been expired in Checkout.. 71 bucks for the game and expansion.. I went and spent my money elsewhere, bought Bordlands 2 4 Pack on Gamers Gate (my kids wanted it for Easter), and grabbed BlackShark for 19 bucks on DCS. Money well spent elsewhere!
