Do we need an official Groghead poker game for Friday nights?

I just purchased Poker Night 2 (see below), but it's only single player.  Yet, that got me thinking.  On the heels of our successful L4D2 Friday night gaming, do we all need to agree on an official poker game for all of us to purchase for Friday night gaming?

I have to admit that I'm new to any sort of poker gaming, and I don't want to play for real money.   8)

If we all ended up on voice chat while playing I believe the banter would be more entertaining than the actual poker game. :)

I would do this. Some of the best times I have had have been during real life poker games. Just make sure 'Phro keeps his turn times to less than an hour.

What we really need is grogheads poker night face-to-face at Cons.  I would be willing to travel quite a ways to do that.

Nah, it could work. It would be a bit weird playing poker with people I know, but who are not in the room.

Would we have to buy a game or couldn't we just meet up at one of the many free online sites? Serious question as I've never used any on line poker sites.

Whilst they say poker only really works if you stand to lose a stack of chips that represents a significant amount of money to you, I think, as gamers, we could get fun out of  it without money.  After all we can get the heart pumping about losing a virtual province or Tiger tank, so why not virtual chips?

The tradition I'll carry on is to bring Kung Fu Fighting and sit around and drink. That game is awesome - especially after a couple of drinks with friends.
