Matrix games, ageod and wargamer

Just wondering if its just me and few connections i have tried where i am but are all these sites down at the moment - i get the page cannot be displayed messages for these at the moment

well its all back up now, but something odd has happened there - forum still down and all the news and posts on the sites have reverted back to late August. perhaps just reloading it all.

Sorry, i wasnt wanting to play into any of the disagreements, i happily enjoy all the forums, but this was the only one where i could post this query it seems.

well Matrix is back up and normal but Wargamer.com is just a 404 error now- its been hacked before?

If AGEOD is now using Matrix (which hosts WG)  to host their forums then it would make sense that all three could be down at once. In the past when Wargamer has been down so has Matrix. Getting the Matrix site and forums back up first (and presumably AGEOD) makes most business sense since those most directly affect revenue. over at the Slitherine forums Iain Mcneil says that there was no scheduled outage and that he usually gets auto notified when the server is down. Maybe they were hacked over at Matrix.

Hi guys,

We're very sorry to report we had a serious hardware failure over the weekend in our data centre in Colorado. Due to the failure a database server crashed and the Matrix & Ageod sites were down for 4 hours this morning. That in itself is a major issue for us but in addition to this the hardware failure resulted in a loss of the server snap shot. These snapshots allow the server to recover to an earlier position and usually mean if there is an issue and data is lost then you can recover with minimal effort and loss of data. The loss of the snapshot meant we had to manually revert to an earlier backup and the most recent uncompromised backup was the 14th September. This means we have lost just over 24 hours of data.

Any forum posts, account changes, new accounts, news items – basically any changes at all made during these last 24 hours have been lost. There is no way to recover them. We are very sorry for any inconvenience and you can be sure that however upset you are about it, we are far more upset. Our web team has been working through the night to recover what they can. We'll be doing a full review with the data centre in Colorado to find out what happened and why and make sure it doesn't happen again.

Once again apologies for any frustration.

90% of the new threads over there are just ads for new games, expansions, and DLC. I doubt they lost THAT much.
