Turns out I was wearing black today anyway, but to recognize the crackdown, which started today, folks are encourage to wear black shirts.

How fortuitous then I happened to throw on a black shirt after getting home from work today.  Remember Tiananmen Square!

I just get a kick out of the fact that 60 years after they consolidated power in the country, they're still calling themselves the "revolution"

With the apparent desire to acquire more territory, should we now refer to the CPLA as the Imperial Party Army? I'm not even sure that Marx would recognise "Communism" in China as his original version. Territorial expansion, either via border intimidation or de facto via large scale industrial acquisition of foreign territory seems to have more in common with old school imperialism than socialist revolution.
