I was perusing my game collection the other evening, and found a strange pattern forming, that I'd thought I'd share..

I basically have a list of developers who have been elevated to the status of "autobuys". Basically if they release anything, I will buy it, without going through any sort of review process AT ALL. Essentially, their development cycle is hard-wired into my wallet.

Here are the devs who have managed to secure my Automatic Loyalty:

Arcen Games, Chris Park (AI War, Tidalis, A Valley Without Wind 1 & 2, Shattered Haven, Skyward Collapse)
VR Designs, Victor Reijkersz (Advanced Tactics, Decisive Campaigns, Small General)
Cryptic Comet, Vic Davis (Armageddon Empires, Solium Infernum, Six Gun Saga, The Occult Chronicles)
Panthergames, Dave Arjuna (Highway to the Reich, Conquest of the Aegean, Command Ops series)
Joni Nuutinen (Android games, Conflict Series)
DK Simulations, David Kershaw (Android wargames)
Blendogames, Brendon Cheung (Gravity Bone, Flotilla, Atom Zombie Smasher)
NorbSoftDev, Norb (Scourge of War and all it's expansions)
2x2 Games, Tomislav (Unity of Command++)
Soldak Entertainment, Steven Peeler (Depths of Peril, Din's Curse, Kivi's Underworld, Drop Operative)
Sigma Team (Alien Shooter I & II, Zombie Shooter I & II etc)
Star Wraith, Vic (Evochron series, Arvoch series)

I suppose I could almost include Matrix Games/Slitherine in it, but I don't buy ALL their titles (come of the above being published through them) but I do buy ALOT of their titles.

So I wondered if any other folks here have developers who they are automatically loyal to, and will buy every game they put out, by default?

if you found some companies that get it done for you then you wont go wrong.
I used to be like that with some model companies until the backlog of boxes vs actual shelf space became absurd.
Jarhead - Yeah. You're probably right.

Gus - I use sweatpants with flannel shorts to soak up my crotch sweat.

Banzai Cat - There is no "partial credit" in grammar. Like anal sex. It's either in, or it's not.

Mirth - We learned long ago that they key isn't to outrun Star, it's to outrun Gus.

Martok - I don't know if it's possible to have an "anti-boner"...but I now have one.

Gus - Celery is vile and has no reason to exist. Like underwear on Star.

Gusington

I have almost automatic purchases with Relic, Bethesda, Creative Assembly, Blizzard and 2k, just off the top of my head. Eidos is up there too.

Not systematically...however, i am fairly loyal to a game company who produces game i enjoy.

Actually, i do have one company like this: Haemimont Games....

I suspected you had a secret WoW addiction.

Not me.  Automatic buys are not based on developers.  But I do make a lot of automatic buy decisions.

Not really, I don't generally have the money to just insta-buy games like I used to.  However if I did, Arcen Games would be right at the top of the list.  Hell, I even bought Tidalis!  Oh, you can add Introversion too.  The only game of theirs I haven't yet bought (but will) is Prison Architect.

Gusington

I was thinking more Diablo than WoW.

Nefaro

I tend to do this with AGEOD games, but my list is probably smaller.  Cryptic Comet is another.

There's usually a hole in my collections from other devs.

I'm not an early adopter, I have the every now and then impulse buy at full price. I normally wait a bit for the info to get out or wait for a sale. Panther and Vic' s products I will buy at full price, mainly because they put out quality games that I like and their support is great. There are other well supported games but these stick out for me of the games I play.
