I was doing well holding off on this one until I watched a few beta streams.  I quickly lost all resolve after I watched someone designing a solar system, placing planet types and moons around a local star.  At $60 it is still priced higher than what I would have preferred. However, now that the game has advanced past alpha and is into a working beta with rudimentary AI for single player gaming, I feel like I can rationalize the purchase.

Anyway, I've only played very briefly to ensure it runs well on my system, which it does.  I built a really quick system with a few planets and moons and dove in against an AI player. I was only on map for about 10 minutes, but I really like how you feel like you are truly playing on a globe rather than a flat map.  You can see the light source changing as you orbit the sun and then zoom out to see the galaxy around you. I think this will be one of the more unique RTS experiences once its finished.

Great to hear! I kept deciding not to up my pledge to get beta access. I am sorely tempted, but I have a lot to keep me busy until December. I really think this one has potential!

This is from some of the guys behin Total Annihilation, right?
I am VERY tempted to jump in, as TA (and SC later) are easily my favorite RTS clicky games of all time! However, I am worried that the pacing is pretty high and one thing I do hate is to keep switching views to other maps to keep tabs on your army.
If there are several planets in play I am worried if I ever can keep up! ;)

Still, the gameplay I have seen so far is pretty cool! Propelling an astroid into one of the planets for massive destruction, anyone? :D

I used to play K240 and Fragile Allegiance...as well as Total Annihilation/Supreme Commander.  I am VERY MUCH interested in Planetary Annihilation.

Was Fragile Allegiance made by these guys too? Stellar game that one as well! :)
So these guys have a great rep for making great games. And I am sure PA will be great too, I just worry if I still have my multitasking abilities in relation to when I was 17. :P

Totally interested in the game.

Totally not interested in buying in at alpha or beta, especially not for inflated pricing.  :P
