Bionic Dues - Arcen Games

So I started watching a bit of Das24680's YouTube series on the Alpha version and now I'm looking forward to this.

It seems to take some bits from AI War but puts it all into a dual-layered procedurally generated turn-based strategy game. Some Space Hulk and Roguelike influences perhaps? With freakin customizable robots.

Can't say I like the pop-ish background music, but I expect that with all Arcen games (it's the norm). :P Gonna have to Roblot that out.

So stoked for this. It's a dream come true from the looks of it. If the RTS aspect of AI War put you off, then this should set you right up with its totally turn based combat. Especially if you like Customizable Mechs. I purchase all Arcen Games Games anyway. They just ooze brilliance and over time they get gooder and gooder. :)

I am currently working on a preview of the late-beta given to me by Arcen Games.

So far, my impressions are positive. Do be apprised, this is purely a roguelike with a customizable mech party and not really a TBS (per se, although roguelikes require strategy and are turn based). There is an overarching strategy game connected with weakening and stopping the incoming mech army.

Look for more news as soon as I get more time.

I was kinda drawn to it just because it had that Rogue-ish feel to it, along with a higher tier strategy layer.

I had remembered hearing that Arcen was doing some twist on a Roguelike, but began thinking I'd heard it wrong. This must be the one.

I must be the only person on the planet who just can't get into Arcen games. I just do not see the vast appeal.

I've only enjoyed AI War much.. the others are pretty ho-hum. However, this one is a turn-based strategy/roguelike so I'll enjoy it more than most of Arcen's other stuff.
