Since the playtest kit is no longer available, is there any way to still get a copy of those rules. My being old school, 1e AD&D, and having seen some videos on the new system I think I'm really going to like this version and I want to get a jump on working up material for a campaign but I want to be able to look them over before the official release.

remind me this weekend and I'll see if I can dig up my playtest kit.  I'm not sure I'm officially allowed to send you a copy, but perhaps I can describe it in excrutiating detail :)

Thanks, would really appreciate that.   8)

I have thought about getting Ghost of Dragonspear Castle since it has an older set of the D&D Next playtest rules but from what I understand, it doesn't have that much on character creation and levels. Either way, it might be helpful as well.

I haven't been paying attention to D&D for over a year now. I assume the new rulebooks that are being released this summer are 5e/Next?

Yes they are, sorta. From what I understand there will be a .pdf basic version available for free and then the 3 core books, DMG, PHB and MM will be considered the advanced rules.

Interesting. As one of the hard backs is being released mid-june, I'm thinking that pdf is going be available pretty soon!

Seems I was able to scrounge up some stuff that should get me started.   ;)

OK good - b/c I totally forgot about it!  It's been pretty wild here this past weekend.

Found this copy of the Starter Set's pregenerated Fighter character sheet. Interesting information there.
