Well, the one that's got me right now is being unable to declare war on a kindgom (in this instance, Lithuania) because they are independent.  Even if I fabricate a claim successfully, I can't declare war.

At any rate, all hell just broke loose in my game.  My character just died of illness and within seconds the King of Poland also died so both I and my liege are starting with new characters.  And there's some huge war going on with some other faction for Poland...not a country name I recognize.  So it seemed like a good stopping point for the night. 

Sometimes this game takes a bit to get going, but once it does, what a ride it can be!

Well, the one that's got me right now is being unable to declare war on a kindgom (in this instance, Lithuania) because they are independent.  Even if I fabricate a claim successfully, I can't declare war.

That means you are a Vassal of someone else.  Vassal laws mean that only the highest ranked lord can declare wars against outsiders.  In other words your King is the only one who can start such wars.  At some of the lower vassal law levels, you can declare war on fellow vassals of your same liege, so only internal wars are allowed.  Even that is often nixed when your liege raises the the vassal law levels, to exert more control over his vassals.

You'll have to become independent yourself to get full freedom.  This can be done in various ways but usually isn't easy.  You also become easy pickings for larger expansionist neighbors if you do, so take that into consideration.

Well I got practice in for Texas in F1 2013 - but it just showed I was going to have a sucky race!

I've been really enjoying my Combat Mission Normandy Market Garden campaign as the allies. I also fired up my Combat Mission Shock Force : NATO campaign for a few turns.

I used to think the BF games were superb played in WEGO mode (when they first came out) and when Shock Force came out, I changed my mind and ditched WEGO for real time. But having had a PBEM with a member on here and being "forced" to play WEGO, I actually am back in the WEGO mode. The only problem with it is it takes so much longer to get anything done. 1 turn can take 5 minutes because you spend another 4 checking out what's going on. But I can't see me going back to real time.

The Drinking Game went well and the only one I completed over the weekend.

Warfighter is going to have to wait until I've read the rules and the playthrough in the manual. I don't know why I'm having a hard time with it...the rules are definitely not as clear and concise as his Leader games. When it comes to the gameplay part, I need baby steps...clearly noting what you have to do. But for me there is ambiguity in there. Also, it's not always very clear what is meant on some of the cards.

I don't know - I'm just having some issues with the clarity of things. If there's the slightest ambiguity ina  ule or a card, I'll over think things and go round in circles.

Yeah, WEGO is a blessing and a curse in the CMx2 games.  Love being able to give detailed, precise instructions to many units, and especially the "rewind" feature, which I absolutely NEED, and almost never play RTS mode for that reason alone.  But missions in WEGO take a *lonnnggg* time -- they become huge time sucks. 

With the campaigns especially, the mission time constraints make playing RTS mode kind of untenable.  You're almost always fighting the clock more than the enemy, which can be frustrating (not to mention unrealistic, often), and it means you have to pretty much maximize every 1-minute turn you have.  So, I wish there were some way to turn off or relax the rigid time limits when you want to play RTS.
