With the exception of my point 5 above (uses 5e rules) I don't see how any of the masses' criticisms are due to programming difficulty.  They're inherent design decisions.

I'm not a very hardcore rpg'er so most of these criticisms would have gone right over my head.  I more interested in the community-wide reception of what should have been a slam-dunk game.
