I'm working my way through 3 concurrent Alea Jacta Est PBEMs.
Continuing some fast exchanges in The Witches Cauldron scenario for Flashpoint Campaigns, and waiting for my opponent to give me a chance to change the course of history for the Czechs at the Battle of White Mountain in Pike & Shot.

And playing F.E.A.R. in short burst to get a break from strategies and hop into some instant action. The game still looks good, and the banter between the enemy soldiers really adds to the atmosphere of fighting enemy squads.

Just picked up Twilight Struggle (got the board game)so probably some of that and at the same time got Vampire (got the RPG) the Masquerade Bloodlines which I'm having some fun with.

May do a bit of Polaris Sector or new MOO or GCIII or some other 4X.

However mainly been distracted by Talon the GMT space fleet battles board game which arrived on Friday, pushing (some rather nice) counters around, compiling fleet lists and thinking about the design of new scenarios.

Also some Race Room Racing Experience to test out their new Formula Junior cars that came out this week

I gave up on this a long time ago when I saw what they were doing with their strategy. It was all DLC and very piecemeal. I also didn't like the "buy virtual coins" because they damn well knew every purchase would leave you with "some coins" which would nip at yer heed until you bought more to try and use them up. Real money would've been just fine. It's just been cars and money grabs with nothing to actually keep you in the game (no series for example)...just cars and tracks.  :knuppel2:

DTM was ok - but lacked something.

I didn't agree with a some peoples view on the driving model - I thought it was pretty good. But their pricing format pushed me away.

Yeah I agree with you, R3E is really great now graphics, physics and FFB wise, but their poor choice of funding model using the Free 2 Play + Buy DLC via magic points that confuse you on how much it costs, might make some money but really confuses the user base and segregates them into small groups of who can race together.

Yeah the DTM and WTCC series are a bit boring due to the limited car manufacturers in those real world series, but I really enjoy some of the unique series and cars that R3E has compared to some of the other race sims I drive (iRacing, pCARS, AssettoCorsa), I especially like the GT3 cars in the ADAC GT Masters, and the classic beasts in the Group5, Classic Touring Car, and DTM 1992 DTM packs, most of those are not available in other top sims at this point.

I managed to buy most of the tracks/series/cars I care about little by little when they have had them on sale and using VRC points that I bought from their web site in chunks at a 30% discount, but that's a terrible way to have to purchase content for such a great game, and not many people would have the patience to do it that way.

I'm hoping at some point they realize that their crappy economic funding model is keeping them from being as successful as pCARS and Assetto Corsa, and they switch to a more normal purchase model. For now it's a bit of a mess which is a shame for such a great game that has overtaken iRacing and Assetto Corsa on my list of favorites.

I really really like the way it drives, looks and especially sounds. But agree that the way they are selling it is insane. I did relatively well during the big sale they had a while back, like you buying "points" at a good discount from one of their sites and buying content at big discounts on their other site. But how many people are gonna wade through all that? I though about getting my brother involved, he plays iRacing with me, but he wouldn't have had the patience to buy the game like that.

The other thing holding them back from my POV is the online racing is pretty much non-existent in the US and it is awful if I try to race on the populated Euro servers. And the few times I've found other folks to race I'm invariably punted off by some asshat or my connection goes haywire and I end up racing alone with occasional appearances of the other cars before they blink out of existence again.
It's too bad, cause it really is fun to drive. I did a fair amount of single player when iRacing crapped out on me last season and had a lot of fun.

Vampire Bloodlines is an excellent computer RPG also.
