I've never been a big fan of Talisman.  Sometimes refer to it as "Fantasy Monopoly". 

But I did pick up Relic, if only due to the theme.  I think they made some improvements in the mechanics over the earlier Talisman.  Game design isn't GW's strong suit IMO.

Yeah, I suspect that this was a big part of it. Also, perhaps Asmodee looked at the cost of renewing the licensing agreement, figured "We've already got Star Wars, so screw this." and walked away.
