In 1969, Pete Townshend, guitarist with The Who, was the catalyst behind the formation of the band. The concept was to create a band to perform songs written by drummer and singer Speedy Keen, who had written "Armenia City in the Sky", the first track on the Who album The Who Sell Out.  Townshend engineered, arranged and played bass on this song.  Originally titled "Revolution", it was renamed to "Something in the Air" to avoid confusion with the recently released Beatles' song of the same name. Fun Fact: The Who never had a #1 hit in the UK or US - "Something In The Air" is the only song Townshend worked on that went to the top in either of those territories.  While this song was well received, the band was unable to repeat its success and broke up in 1971.

Despite being a song about violent revolution (the final verse "Hand out the arms and ammo, We're going to blast our way through here" is pretty direct for such an otherwise mellow tune), the song has been used in numerous corporate advertisement campaigns, including British Airways, Austin Minis, Coca-Cola and TalkTalk, a mobile phone company.  Not sure what the significance of that fact is, but I think it means something.....   

As far as gaming?  Not too much for me this weekend, as my Daughter's getting married on Monday and I'm doing a 21-mile long religious pilgrimage walk on Saturday.  Y'all have a good weekend!

The Canadian Stratford Festival crew, excellent choice.  I got to see them perform the Mikado in London in the '80s, they made quite an impression.
