I'd rather rob other people's  homes and gaming is where I go to get away from kids so why would I want more. I can see it now. I'm sneaking-up on a bandit, ready to put an arrow through his spleen and out pops my virtual 9 year-old. "Daddy, can I stay-up past my bedtime tonight"?

Yeah I am not feeling the new DLC either.  While the idea might be appealing at face value its not like you can actually "build" a home like in Minecraft.

After a six month hiatus I went back into Skyrim last night, preparing for the Dawnguard quest. Before I dove into that I want to become a werewolf so I am in the middle of the companions questline. However, I have totally forgot how to use/equip shouts...I tried the z key but nothing has happened and I am being slaughtered by undead! Can someone help a brother out and refresh my memory on how to edit my shout powers? I obviously totally forgot :/

The "Z" key uses a shout. To equip a shout go to your magic menu and one of the tabs (second or third from the right) should list all your shouts. You can also add them to your favorites menu by hitting "F" when the shout is highlighted.

I heard building your own house isn't the easiest thing to do either. Apparently you have to provide all of your own materials, which means lots of running around. It sounds like an exponential nightmare to me. I purchased Dawnguard, but meh... Me thinks Hearthfire is just too much work.

If you really want to build your own house in Skyrim, get the Build Your Own Home mod. http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/18480. Or you can get one any of hundred good house mods that are available. My personal favorite that I'm going to be using when I beat Alduin is Halls of Dovahndor http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/25448/. You don't build it, but its one of the most amazing looking house mods that has been released so far.

If you were playing on X-Box or PS3 and wanted a custom player home then maybe Hearthfire would be worth it but not on the PC.
