DLC Help

I have never really used or wanted DLC but I have been toying with the idea of getting a 360 when the prices drop after the new Xbox comes out and was wondering how the DLC content works, in that I think you get an Xbox live account to access the online content but was wondering how you pay for DLC?

I thought I would ask here as there seem to be some knowledgeable folks about on here and I do not have a credit card, debit only as I do not agree with credit cards so that will probably scupper my plans but you do not win the raffle unless you buy the ticket so thought I would ask.

You must have an xbox live account in order to access any online content.  Subscription rates vary based upon the length of time of your subscription.  On top of the live account subscription fee, you purchase DLC and other content by paying for microsoft live "points."  X number of dollars buys you Y number of points which you can use to purchase Z.

I'm sure you can make purchases with a debit card, so long as it has the VISA/Mastercard logo on it.

...but seriously, get yourself some credit, dude.  All the big boys are doing it.

That makes sense, I can get the credits and the Live account from WH Smiths. I do have a Visa / Mastercard debit card. Do not like credit as I am old school, If I have not got the money then I do not buy it, end of, plus the interest rates are not for the faint  of heart.

Btw, you don't need a Gold account to purchase DLC, or get demos or patches.  A free Silver Live account is all you need.   Gold is only needed for multiplayer, and things like netflix.
