Can I ask a stupid question...

Do all SB players just use this as a shoot em up for western tanks.  It seems like everyone likes to drive around in M1A2s, Leopard 2s, and Challengers.  Do you guys every play against each other or in Russian equipment?

There are many ways to use SB. The Dogs of War go for greater immersion and realism within the confines of the simulation. There are a few members of DOW who have served in the military or who are still serving.

The mission we just did contains the following:
•   CV90/35-NL
•   Cougar 6x6 MRAP
•   Leopard 1A5-DK-1
•   M113A2
•   Unimog 1300L
•   M1025 HMMWV
•   M113 Repair
•   M13A3 Medic
•   MRH-90 Helo

There is a large pool of vehicles/equipment to choose from. It depends on the mission. You can easily put together a mission if you do not find one that you want.  However this is unlikely as there are 100's to choose from. Do you guys every play against each other or in Russian equipment?

In DOW we play CO-OP, for now any way. However many people play team v team. There is a meeting on Teamspeak every Friday night called "TGIF" approx 20 players who split into 2 teams. Red and Blue.

I have fought many battles against Russian equipment. Also using Russian equipment.

Pop in to the TeamSpeak channel sometime :)

Multiplayer every Saturday



This is different from our normal DOW sessions. The intention is to allow players from all over a better chance of meeting up at a realistic time. we will have a trial run this Saturday 27/09/14 (see the local time link below) and post any findings shortly after.

If You do not have the beta 64 release then do not despair.

Can one of you folks recommend a good mic-and-headset setup that you like?

I have a fancy hunch my old Xbox headset wont' quite cut it...

Hi Cyrano

Just about any mic will do. I do recommend a headset combo (headphones + mic). USB are the easiest to deal with. My buddy uses a mic that cost $3 when on his laptop  :o . It is important that you transmit and receive as clear as possible with the minimum of background noise.

All these Steel Beasts Pro shots have gotten to me.  As George Costanza said once....  "I think it may have moved"

I've downloaded it, maybe I'll get a chance to boot it up, for a month at $9.50 I could give it a whirl.  I've wasted more than that trying MMO's from time to time.

If you need any help then let me know. There is always a lot going on. DOW are online most nights and we have 2 big sessions, one one Saturday and one on Sunday.

We are a friendly helpful group :)
