I've only recently seen this, but I have to say it's a remarkably even-keeled discussion and disagreement about Ferguson (and NYC)

Plus, any time you can get commentary that intelligent out of Shaq and Barkley in the same conversation, it can't be that bad

It sounds like they have good footage of the incident backing up the need for deadly force. I feel for the family but, really, what are people expecting when a police officer is faced with that situation? Especially after the NY ambush............

Here's a sound rule:  Don't attack or threaten a police officer with a weapon. 

It's an ideal step towards not getting shot.

I would expect that to be common sense but perhaps it needs to be repeatedly mentioned to the public in general?

I think everyone in St. Louis are ignoring the protestors/rioters at this point. There are always going to be police shootings to protest, because the thugs are armed and don't mind killing each other and anyone else that gets in their way. I am glad I can completely steer clear of North County 99% of the time. White Flight on fast forward.

By the way, I am tired of hearing the media using the term "mostly peaceful protest". The "protestors" are bringing homemade bombs, bricks, and bring bags of rocks in their attempted looting of another QuickTrip. The media have been nothing but enablers in this whole episode. I am glad my first amendment rights now include throwing bricks and Molotov cocktails.

The "protestors" are bringing homemade bombs, bricks, and bring bags of rocks in their attempted looting of another QuickTrip. The media have been nothing but enablers in this whole episode. I am glad my first amendment rights now include throwing bricks and Molotov cocktails.

Not everyone gets special treatment and exclusion from law enforcement when it comes to violent rioting.  I suspect we wouldn't, if we were to hold up our local QuikTrip and set it ablaze.
