Who the hell did this? I can't find any references to whom pulled this off other than "the suspect" or "the perpetrator."

Initial eye witness accounts said it was a man armed with a double-barreled shotgun.  The witness claimed he was wearing a white headband or bandana with arabic writing on it.  There was another man crouching near him with a similar headband on.

Very sorry to hear the soldier died. Not so sorry to hear the shooter did.

As for the Sergeant-at-Arms, the shooter should have known better to tangle with a man who can successfully wear such an imposing hat. Good on 'im!

Man, this is just crazy.  Thoughts & prayers for the family of the slain soldier, and my hopes that no one else is hurt.

Time to nail this radicalized trash...  Hopefully this will spur further action to deal with the wackos here at home!

My heart goes out to that soldier's family. If there is any evidence that the perp was radicalized by a person or persons within reach of Western law enforcement then a harsh example should be made of them.

Good point. These young people are probably being set off by leaders in their community with a chip on their shoulder.

If true, that is a disturbing development.

terrible news  >:(

now its hightime that the citizens of the western minded or NATO states force their according local governments to take action in-country.

radical or 'traditional' (so they often call themselves) Muslims who are not citizens of those countries has to be expelled!
those are easy to identify by the way they dress end especially how they force their womenfolk to dress.
(burka, and headscarves should be outruled outside of private property or mosques in all our nations.
its ok to impose personal religious diet rules upon oneself, but being offended if others dishes are served to neighbour at the dining table or even in the whole restaurant, is a sign for radicalism and leads to expelation)

immigrants get citizenship granted only on a long probation, and so citizenship can be revoked.
children from immigrants don't get citizenship at birth. the citizenship is offered when the child had been raised to the value judgement of the western society at the age of 21 and it can be revoked for up to 10 years

convects to Islam get monitored and if they show sign of radicalism can loose their citizenship in a trial court
those may apply for citizenship in other nations like SaudiArabia or Gulf Emirates if they choose so

Interesting comments Mike.  I find it interesting to note that Monday's radical Muslim killer of a Canadian soldier was prevented from leaving the country to fight with ISIS/ISIL, so he killed a soldier here in Canada.  Had he only been allowed to leave, WO Vincent would be alive today.
Any time is a good time for pie.

Picture from about 12 minutes before the shooting of Cpl. Nathan Cirillo (left).

Corporal Cirillo was a reservist with the Hamilton, Ontario-based Princess Louise's Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders of Canada.

Some background on Sergeant at Arms Kevin Vickers whose heroic actions prevented an even worse tragedy.

http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/new-brunswick/ottawa-shooting-miramichi-very-proud-of-kevin-vickers-1.2809944

QuoteAfter the assailant was shot, Vickers entered the Conservative caucus room, where Prime Minister Stephen Harper was at the time of the shooting and explained what happened.

Vickers told the room he engaged with the assailant.

"I put him down," the former RCMP officer said.

Sergeant at Arms Vickers really earned his pay. Sorry he had to be placed in that situation but he really stepped up.
