at least i got the Core engine this morn to check out the UI improvements and the online store handling   :)

From the few minutes i spend with it
it looks like Command Ops still doesn't like a general Windows-OS text-size setting of 125% i use all day instead of tiny 100%

Also the counters are so small even in the highest zoom in magnification
Dave or Gents, is there a way (or a workaround) to increase their size?

IIRC, in the last installment of the game i used a lower resolution then that native to my LCD, but this workaround seems to doesn't work anymore.

I think i am not the only one in the general wargaming community (age group) with increasing bad eye sight over all those years ;)
so maybe an 'enlarged chits' option is also an idea to add to the feature list for a (free) 2.01 patch or the (charged) 2.1 version

Just bought my copy. Lets hope I can keep it up to date without re-mortgaging the house and selling the kids  :crazy2:

I know GAMA is underway, but do we have any sense when we'll be hearing about the 100% real, bona fide, thus-it-shall-be pricing plan for this go-forward.

It predicates my purchase decision.

Best to post over on the LNL Forum; Support is pretty active there now after the release.

Hi,

Is anyone else, .. who has purchased CO 2, .. experiencing performance problems?

I'm finding the game kinda sluggish, ... and slow.

I ran a test on CO 1 vs CO 2, .. with the 'Battle of the Crossroads' scenario (Bastogne) & (using the exact same conditions and settings), .. and ran each test 3 times to allow for variance.

Ran the tests at full accelerated time .. i.e. >>> , .. and let it run from 06:00 to 18:00 in game time.

Avg time for CO 1 was 3 mins  42 secs.

Avg time for CO 2 was 15 mins 46 secs. !!! ... difference of 12 mins. !!!

With CO 1, .. even at accelerated time .. unit movement across the map is very fluid.

With CO 2, .. the units tend to stutter, jerk & jump around the map.

I also appreciate that the AI may be a bit more complex now, .. but surely not to the extent that the program just bogs down.  :o

I am going to post this question/query over on the LnL forums, .. but, I'm having some issues with their forums and my browser (IE 11), .. where the webpage(s) are stalling etc..

Cheers
Tom

I'm experiencing something similar and posted about it on official forum. Here is the entire message:

QuoteWhen I select HQ unit while in RTS mode games slows down to a crawl. Time on Controls panel is running noticeably slower and I can hardly scroll map.

It seems this only happens when selected unit is HQ. After deselecting unit, game speed is going back to normal again and scrolling is smooth. Also, I tested this on laptop and same thing occurs. I have Command Ops I installed and everything runs fine.

My configuration: Intel i5 750 2.67GHz, 8GB RAM, NVidia 770 GTX, SSD Disk, Win 7, 24" monitor.

Hey Emir,

Thanks for confirming, .. and kudos for determining it was related to an HQ unit. In my tests, I always had the HQ selected, so that I could watch the pathing etc..

.. I just tried my test again, .. but deselecting the HQ unit, .. before starting the test.

.. time to complete .. 4 mins 50 secs. So, .. not quite as fast as CO 1 (3 mins 42 secs) , .. but a darn site better than 15 mins 46 secs.  :)

Thank for your input.

Cheers

I'm seeing more than a few reports to this effect as I read stuff today. I haven't had a chance to download it myself yet, but will this evening.

I had been seriously considering purchasing the bundle pack right off.  But with the likely possibility of having to pay for updates for the vast majority of the content, I'll just spend the money elsewhere.

I don't want to worry about some bug or performance issues forcing me to pay more if I want them eventually fixed.  More so if this is a situation that would continue to repeat itself.  There are always bugs & issues in any new release, even re-releases, that need to be ironed out over a long period and this mysterious update scheme should make anyone wary.  Am I being an unreasonable customer, here?  ???

Nope.. given that the last posts from anyone on LnL forums around pricing indicated fees (not insubstantial) to keep your scenario packs working with each (free) major upgrade, I don't know how anyone could call you unreasonable.   The post Brant made from his conversation with David Heath would indicate they've backed off of that, but why didn't they put that on their site?   Any there's still wiggle room in there they need to clarify.

It's been said bugs will be fixed and aren't part of an upgrade. Major features are the stuff in the upgrades. I'm not worried about bugs they have always been at supporting there games. At its current price and content I wouldn't pass it up. Just my opinion. Hopefully Dave will pop in and ease peoples mind.

I'm a bit stuck...

I've downloaded the pack and when I decompress it, there are 5 modules. First off, they all look considerably smaller than I remember the game did in my Matrix versions - but more than that I don't see a core game. So do I just install the modules?

Is there some kind of discount if we own the old games (from Matrix)?
