Pre-purchased last night from GMG as a VIP special. Looking forward to the game unlocking tomorrow. :)

...was hoping to see my Steam key from GMG by now (the one for Cities Skylines showed up very early Tuesday morning). Just checked my GMG Games list and for Starships it shows "No keys available for this game." :-\ Hope they get more by release time....

GMG keys have yet to be sent.
However it seems they are preparing for it.

I saw that myself and couldn't tell if that meant that GMG ran out and has to get more, or they just haven't been released yet. No worries, though, because at this point I won't have time to play until after work anyway.

Looks like GMG has a direct download option...is it possible to just download and play now and then activate on steam later?

I doubt it, since the game uses Steamworks as DRM.
