Pretty much. Hayden sucks and has zero ability to make an audience have any empathy for him. Natalie Portman was exactly the same. They were both truly awful as the centerpieces of these films.

To be fair, I think any of the prequel movies could have been a thousand times better, if they had actors worthy of the craft. Their choice to go with established actors, I knew would be a bad, bad choice, back even before the first prequel came out. (That said, I think Ewan McGregor did a great job, and was probably the only 'actor' among a sea of gobshite in all three films.)

That's not to say that would make them good movies. It would just make them light-years better than the Bantha pudu they are. Maybe upgraded to unwashed Jawa.
