So the FLGS has a moving sale where everything is 25% off.  I am debating between the following:
D-Day at Tarawa ($65 before discount)
Warfighter: The Tactical SF card game ($71 bd)
Star Wars X-wing Starter pack ($42 bd)
Flintlock by LnL Publishing ($35 final)
Hold the Line: Fredrick's War ($27 final)
Breakthrough: Cambrai ($27 final)

Thoughts?

Now, the problem is, how to divide five Afghans from three mules and have two Englishmen left over.

Bison

Is all of them an option?  :)

Just beware Star Wars X-wing is really good and if it gets it's hooks in you be prepared to layout the cash.

I have looked at both Hold the Line and Breakthrough and would get them if they were that price at my FLGS.  Not saying they are good or worth it, but that I've been interested in them in the past.

The HTL system is a good one - quick games, easy to learn but quite challenging.  Very nice quality components as well.

Which store is having a sale?

EDIT: Found it.  They're moving to the airport?  Weird.

Anyway, if you want to try out X-Wing, PM me.  I think a bunch of guys from my group will be at Trumpeter tonight with all their X-Wing and Armada stuff.

if you think you're going to spend more time playing solo, get D-Day at Tarawa.

If you're playing with non-grogs, get HTL

Otherwise go with what you think you'll play the most

Salute Jack Nastyface!

I just noticed you hail from Tsawwassen. I was born and bred there (beach grove); now living in Ottawa but will be back out west just as soon as plans for winning the lottery come together. Pity I didn't know you ~30 years ago when I owned 50lbs of Squad Leader but couldn't meet another wargamer to save my life.

Jack Nastyface

Hey Rekim,
Actually I'm a Calgary boy, edumacated at UBC, hunted danced sang in Houston TX, and as of 11(!) years ago, now of Tsawwassen.  Best place in the world, really....

Much there to like, but for me it'd be DVG's game what-is-not-here-named...

Still waiting on my order of that game for which I owe you a punch in the face. Wave 2 got delayed until sometime this month.... What is it with DVG and me of late.... ???

By the by Jack, what did you get?

Jack Nastyface

Errr...ummm...well, I didn't actually buy anything at the sale, because I ended up having to take my daughter to some Anime convention on Sunday.  I ended up buying some of these for lounging around the house:

Having said that...the sale is on for a few more days.  I am considering maybe picking up Fear God and Dreadnought (greatly reduced to $55 CDN).

@ cyrano.  If you are looking for Tiger Leader, it sells for $71 CDN.  At 25% off, that would be 53.25 USD, and with the US / CDN rate being another 25% off, you'd be looking at half price.  Let me know if you want it...I can ship from Point Roberts Washington (google map it - the only place in the US that you have to get to via Canada) for probably not much.

Don't judge me...

You bought some young women in samurai-like outfits to lounge around your house?

Huh. Guess I should give that a try...

Maybe they were out of Hammer Pants.

Actually, they were NOT out of Hammer pants...

PS...Sale at Imperial Hobbies, Richmond BC, is on until this Thursday.  Everything in the store 25% off.  For you 'mercians, the US / CDN exchange rate is about .76 for 1 CDN dollar.  Happy to ship titles to any of you from Washington state.

You, sir, are most righteous.

I already have TL, ordered at the KS level from NWS, hence my frustration with the whole fiasco.

Now, if they had a copy of the re-boot of "Napoleon's Last Battles" by Decision Games (new green box), we'd be having a conversation!

As I say, though, thanks awfully for the consideration.

Update...no go on Napoleon's last battles.
Was thinking of picking up Fear God and Dreadnought for $54 CDN, but looks like too much effort.
