So, after listening to some light headbanger music over the last couple of days, *and* stumbling across yet another article foolishly positing that the uselessness of the Oxford Comma, I have been inspired to write some lyrics defended the offended comma.

Intended to be sung to Van Halen's Cradle Will Rock.

Well, they say it's kinda frightenin' how this younger generation swings
You know, it's more than just some new sensation
Well, the kid is into losin' punctuation
And he don't use commas half the week
You know, it's more than just an aggravation

And the comma will rock
Yes, the Oxford comma will rock
And I say, rock on
Ooh, rock on

And when some local kid gets down, and tries to run the comma out of town
They say, you could've at least faked it boy, fake it boy
(You could at least fake it, boy)
At an early age he hits the street
And don't use commas half the week
And he's unemployed
(Unemployed)
Ow!

And the comma will rock, ow!
And, the Oxford comma will rock
And I say, rock on
Oh I say rock on

Have you seen Junior's grades?
Ow!

And when some local kid gets down, and abuses commas without a frown
They say, you could've at least faked it boy, faked it boy
And so at an early age he hits the street
Doesn't use commas half the week
And he's unemployed, professors are overjoyed

And the comma will rock
Yes, the Oxford comma will rock
I say, rock on
Hey, rock on

Rock on
(Rock on)
Oxford
(Com-ma,always use it, brain child)
Ow!
Com-ma
(Whoa)
(It's crazy)
Rock on
(I say, Com-ma)
(Ox-ford)
Com-ma
(Ox-ford)
Com-ma
(Ox, Ox-ford)
Com-ma
(Ox, Ox-ford)
Com-ma
Rock on

your D&D group must have cut short last night, eh?
The key to surviving this site is to not say something which ends up as someone's tag line - Steelgrave

The death of the Oxford Comma will be like the fall of grammar everywhere. It is truly the Minas Tirith of common sense and writing, and the hordes of ignorant orcs and trolls with their "teh" and "your/you're" and inability to use a damn comma correctly are going to bring about the fall of Western Civilization, goddammit.

Nope. Hit the wall on time.

As for this morning, it's just part of the morning ritual.
