The finale was okay at best. That's about it. The entire first season was meh.

I'll probably watch season 2, but barely ambitious to do so.

Disagree...loved the finale - it was as disturbing and creepy as I thought it would be. The season took time to get cranking but it's because it started out in the real, normal world. What I would like more of is background...where did this outbreak originate?

Dittos across the board. I like the different dynamics of FTWD while retaining my love of TWD at the same time. I'm in no way disappointed.

I think the show should have been more about how the government dealt or failed to deal with the crisis and less than a soap opera about a dysfunctional family with some zombies thrown in for suspense. None of the major characters have any appealing traits for me at least.

Like I wrote before, I'll watch season 2, but not with same gusto that I do with TWD.

Honestly, that sounds boring to me....more like a documentary than a drama. But hey, we're allowed to disagree and that's why there is so much variety available.

^ +1 to that. It's an all too common premise for any kind of apocalyptic show/movie. And it's not just they are incompetent, but outright stupid. And most of the time there's some underlying evil intent. So they're evil and dumb. Not a great premise.

Posters on IMDB are talking about how trained National Guard soldiers who presumably have families can go from protecting US citizens to thieving rapists in the span of two weeks. That wasn't a strong point of the show's writing.
