Tanks.

Not sure if I'll back this one, although I was not at all disappointed by the base game. Still, it looks very cool. If I get a paycheck soon, I might be very tempted...

Might buy..but Tanks aren't really interesting me enough. I want to see the French rather than Tanks. I still haven't even got the mini's of the sprue yet!

Yeah, the tanks are less interesting to me than the French or an eastern front expansion, but those are almost certainly in the works.

Taking the minis off the sprue was a pretty laborious task. As I'm sure you know, the British bayonets have a habit of snapping. The problem is that they're under tension, so the best way to avoid breaking them is to (slowly) snip off the other sprues, starting with the ones opposite the bayonet (on the base), and to snip the bayonet last. That way, you're relieving a lot of the tension on the bayonets, and they're not so liable to break. Once I figured that out, I didn't lose too many.

I am way to OCD to ever tolerate snapped bayonets.

Something like that would drive me nuts!

As for the game, is there any notion of an epic expansion?  The standard C&C board always struck me as a bit narrow for WWI.

You didn't know? My Corps has already sailed to Berlin. We got there 3 days ago and we've been in the Tiergarten on the piss ever since. -- Marshal Soult, October 1806

Well, if you bought the game via Kickstarter, I believe that PSC will send you a replacement sprue, so unless you literally break every single bayonet, you'll probably end up with enough unbroken ones to play the game OCD free ;)

As for a 'epic' expansion... I have no idea. It might be possible that something like that might be in the works for an eastern front expansion -- battles there were more fluid than in the west, after all.

But I honestly think that the standard board works fine for what they're trying to do with the game at this point. And given the way that the terrain rules work, I think making "No Man's Land" any bigger would pretty much make the game unplayable for the attackers (if, perhaps, more realistic), since most units would get mowed down on their way across. As it is, you've got to channel your attacks through shellholes (and preferably play an "Over the Top" card to give you a movement increase) to have any hope of making it to the enemy trench relatively unscathed, and then you've got to dislodge the defenders (who can often just play a "Recon" card to score free VPs).
